
THE BLUES LIVE HERE
The mecca for India’s contemporary Blues culture, in February 2020, The Mahindra Blues Festival was ready to celebrate their decade of foot stomping blues and whiskey tunes. A legacy festival that often comes armed with butterscotch baritones and six strings – this blues extravaganza was set to transcend generations. But taking an analog brand into a digital future was going to be challenging; maintaining and evolving their legacy even more so. A HOWLin’ Wolf, or wolves should we say, were about to ‘smokestack’ some digital lighting. Dark tones, and gold hues, hand in hand with minimalist fonts took centre stage, as we re-imagined how the blues visually evolved to strike a chord with generations to come.
